This is a 7” that’s right here on my counter, right this second. Entertainment and music were Michael Jackson’s life, from Day One. Which means he’s been part of entertainment and music for every single one of mine, as well. I’ll admit that I’ve already been missing him for some time now, but making it official, like this, actually hurts a great deal inside. He was, in many ways, part of the fabric of the culture I’ve known since birth. It’s almost an insulting understatement to suggest he was an entertainer, or a musician. He might very well have been made of magic, for all I know. Seems like it to me. And it always has. With every bit of respect and sincerity, I’ll miss you and your music and your moves and your magic and even your particular brand of crazy, sir. It was all magic. And always will be.
