So this past week, Anna was walking to the Oakland Ikea with her headphones on. You know, as one does. Next thing you know, she was in the middle of an Impromptu photo session in the street by photographer Maurice Ramirez, helping him test a new light. He sent these on later that day. I can’t blame him, either: I’d take photos of her too.

The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is a $20 billion, multi-national, gigantic particle accelerator spanning the French/Switzerland border. It’s used by physicists to study the smallest known particles, all in an attempt to understand the nature of the Universe. Thought I might try and give it a nice-looking treatment since it’s an amazing piece of scientific technology. The text in the upper corner includes a list of facts and figures about the LHC, as well as a small explanation of what it’s all about.

So Anna’s been yelling in another language at the World Cup for about two hours. Figured I’d start secretly recording her hooping and hollaring for fun. I’m a World Cup dummy, so I ask her who’s who. She distractedly tells me all I need to know, and her brain’s still in Spanish gear:
