I used to be a geologist. A volcanologist, really. So when I see blocks of typography, paragraphs neatly arranged, letters perfectly set, kerned and leaded and measured… I can’t help but feel the pull of entropy and erosion. Pretty sure this is how it’d take its toll.
The text itself is taken from a 1971 essay on experimental typography by the German designer and typographer Wolfgang Weingart, and is set in the Univers typeface. Univers was designed from 1954-57 by Adrian Frutiger, and is my very favorite typeface.
